Whaling Days
Whaling Days returns to “Old Town” Silverdale from Friday, July 24 through Sunday, July 26, 2026, with a fireworks show capping off the weekend. This family-oriented festival is entirely non-profit and volunteer-run, and it’s been a community staple since 1974.
Beyond the entertainment and food vendors, the festival gives back by directing funds toward local nonprofits and student scholarships. Thousands of people turn out each year, making it one of the more established gatherings on the summer calendar.
Bremerton Blackberry Festival
The Bremerton Blackberry Festival takes over the Bremerton Boardwalk from Saturday, September 5 through Monday, September 7, 2026, right along Sinclair Inlet and just steps from the Seattle-Bremerton ferry. True to its name, the festival leans heavily into blackberries, with cobblers, pies, donuts, ice cream, wine, and jams all making an appearance.
More than 150 vendors show up selling handmade goods and berry-themed merchandise, alongside live entertainment throughout the weekend. The whole event is put on by the Bremerton Rotary Foundation, with proceeds going back into local scholarships, parks, and community programs.
State Parks & Outdoor Spots Near Silverdale, WA
Kitsap Memorial State Park offers waterfront access on Hood Canal with camping, picnicking, and swimming. Illahee State Park, just outside Bremerton, has old-growth forest trails and views across Port Orchard Bay. Both require a Washington State Discover Pass for vehicle entry.
For a bigger day trip, the Olympic Peninsula offers Hurricane Ridge, Lake Crescent, and Sol Duc Hot Springs within Olympic National Park. Summer is peak season, and Hurricane Ridge parking regularly fills on weekends, with vehicles turned away once capacity is reached.
