Terpinolene

Terpinolene is a minor terpene that is a bit more about scent and flavor than anything. But don’t dismiss the idea of medicinal effects. There are plenty of good things about this terpene that are more subtle than full blown right in your face.

For starters, this terpene is found in some of the most common foods and outdoor surroundings. With that in mind, it makes it a more accessible terpene in comparison to some others. A lot of your favorite strains have terpinolene in them. Either listed as a major or minor terpene. The influence it has on strains is immense and you can see it in indicas and sativas.

Some of the top strains that are heavy in terpinolene:

  • Jack Herer (Classic sativa)
  • Durban Poison (sativa landrace)
  • Dutch Treat (Classic hybrid)
  • XJ-13 (Sativa hybrid)
  • Strawberry Fields (indica hybrid)
  • Afghani (indica Landrace)

So as you can tell, no matter the strain type, terpinolene will be prevalent in some way. One of the main indica types that it shows up in is kush. The natural, sweet taste, and scent pulls through leaving the person enjoying it feeling at ease and ready for a relaxing and stress-free high. If you can find an indica strain heavy in terpinolene, I’d highly suggest checking it out.

Even in strong sativas, terpinolene helps make it so that some users won’t go into a state of panic from the strength of the strains. For example, the 100% sativa landrace strain Durban Poison is going to keep you busy, or focus you. But it could potentially make you a little too amped. Terpinolene’s calming and sedating effect is known to help try to relax the person as the high goes on.

Terpinolene is a unique terpene that shows up in a little bit of everything. Next time you’re at a shop, ask your budtender about products that are heavy in terpinolene!

Doctor & Crook – A Brief History

Doctor & Crook has been around since about 2016. The company has been well known, and respected for its transparency, and consistency with their products.

The company is family-owned, and produces from Bellingham, Washington. They pair up with local, small batch, award-winning farms for their oils. They even hand fill their cartridges and disposables! The level of care that goes into these products is beyond expectation, and truly shows off the pride they have in their brand.

Have you ever searched for a disposable that doesn’t clog? Like, legitimately doesn’t clog up on you. If you have and you just haven’t found that white whale yet, let me introduce you to Doctor & Crook.

The next time you’re in a shop and you see a Doctor & Crook product, give it a shot. With pesticide-free products, it’s hard to go wrong with any choice from this brand.

Vanilla Crack Disposable Cartridge Review

Vanilla Crack is an uppity, focusing, and racy sativa that is a cross of Vanilla Lime and Green Crack. If you’re wanting a sativa that is basically like “white knuckling” a car going 150 MPH on the salt flats, congratulations! This strain is for you! Let’s just do a quick breakdown about what makes this such a potent sativa and why this disposable could potentially replace your morning coffee!

Combining Vanilla Lime (XJ-13 x Jack Herer) and Green Crack (Skunk #1 x Unknown Indica) makes this one of the most highly focused strains out on the market. Vanilla Lime is known to give you a headrush that hits quickly and stays up front in a cerebral manner. Following up with that, you’ve got the cross of Green Crack. This strain gives you a bit of a body buzz and makes you feel energetic enough to go and get anything and everything done. So with that in mind, the effects from these strains together can be a potent combo that will send you on a rocket to the moon.

Hardware – Now, you may ask yourself “What else sets this disposable apart from others?” It’s all about the hardware. The hardware and way that they fill their disposables is one of a kind. While the stick-battery-style isn’t new in the grand scheme, there are two things that stand out with this. First, they fill their disposables from the top so that they have a higher success rate of not clogging. I have personally used many of their disposables and have been able to clear all the oil out. Which is something I can’t always say from other companies that make disposables. In my opinion, this is the coolest part. The pen is actually 14mm wide, meaning that you can put it into ANY standard size dab rig, bong, bubbler, etc. and it will be able to give you a massive amount of vapor, similar in size to a regular dab! So if you’re a power hitter, or just like to take large smooth rips on the go, this is the disposable for you.

The High – The high for me, was a little strong. I have some pretty severe anxiety (like I’ve mentioned in other articles) but when I felt like I was dragging from being too tired, this was the boost that I needed. When I was a bit more awake, this was a great strain for trying to get things done or needing to focus. I also felt a slight bit of a mood boost which was nice. It never really gave me any hunger cravings which was a plus, but it definitely made me feel like I could go run or do something physical. I like to go to the driving range on a frequent basis. This was something that made me more focused on my swing and follow through. No matter the activity you want to focus on, this will get you to the level you need to be.

Final Thoughts

Terpinolene, while being a minor terpene, helps show the complicated diversity of flavors, scents, and effects that terpenes play into our strains.

Vanilla Crack from Doctor & Crook is a prime example of how terpinolene can help bring energy, focus, and a little euphoria to your day in a disposable cartridge!

That’s all from me! I hope you enjoyed this and I’ll see ya next time!

Happy New Year!

Personal note: Last week I lost a friend who was also into cannabis. Before I started smoking, he, his cousin (one of my best friends) and I would hang out. I’d watch them either take rips from a bong or pass joints back and forth. Hand rolled, so they weren’t very well done. Regardless, I’d watch them do this while we’d sit around singing “Purple Pills” from D12. The laughs were loud and the jokes were always dumb, and that’s the way he liked it. He was always big into BMX throughout his life. So we’d either watch him ride his bike, or we’d watch whatever demo videos he’d throw on because we knew he knew what riders were the best.

As he got older, he went on to become a roofer. And a damn good one at that. Some of you may even be under a roof he either built or helped build. A master of his craft, as much as he was a master of being a great father and husband. Thanks for the laughs and memories. I’ll smoke a bowl and watch a Dave Mirra video for you, dude. R.I.P.
